After sweeping their four-game homestand, Chicago travels to Washington for a Friday night matchup with Alex Ovechkin’s Capitals. Washington currently sits in 2nd place in the Metropolitan Division with 59 points (27-9-5), and is currently riding a seven-game winning streak. Chicago also has 59 points this season (27-12-5), which leads the Western Conference, though their 44 games played is tied for the second-highest total in all of hockey. Washington is among the hottest teams in hockey, while the Blackhawks have strung together a handful of wins as well. Both teams look to add to their ongoing momentum tonight in a matchup of two teams that don’t see each other very often; this should be an excellent hockey game. Here are your expected lines for both teams:

Desjardins-Rasmussen-Tootoo

Corey Crawford (16-8-3, .925 SV%, 2.35 GAA)

Washington

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie

Connolly-Eller-Burakovsky

Winnik-Beagle-Wilson

Orlov-Niskanen

Prediction

The Blackhawks will skate well with Washington, making for an entertaining game. Ultimately, I believe that the Capitals’ streak will not be ended tonight. Alex Ovechkin should make his mark on the score sheet, as should Patrick Kane. Holtby should get the best of Crawford and the Hawks will fall to the Caps 2-1. Don’t count the Hawks out if they can stay out of the box, though. Marian Hossa knows that he’s due as well.

Have a great weekend.
