The Chicago Blackhawks will host their former rivals tonight at 7:30 pm CST at the United Center. Here are your expected lineups for tonight’s game:
Corey Crawford (15-8-3, .925 SV%, 2.33 GAA)
Petr Mrazek (9-10-3, .895 SV%, 3.10 GAA)
Keys to the Game:
· Put Pucks on Net – The Red Wings have had trouble keeping pucks out of their net all season long. Allowing more than 3 goals per game, the Blackhawks need to make Mrazek uncomfortable all game long.
· Stay Out of the Box! – The Blackhawks need to stop taking ridiculous penalties, such as delay of game and too many men. As my colleague Karen says, “Sausage Fest” penalties are what separate the good teams from the lousy ones.
· Ride the Momentum – Tonight’s crowd, as tradition tells us, will be buzzing with Detroit in town. The Hawks need to use this energy positively and turn it into goals.
I expect the Blackhawks to pull out the victory, and extend their winning streak to 4 games. The Kane line will again prove to be too lethal, and should cash in once or twice during tonight’s contest. Assuming the Blackhawks don’t take the night off, expect two more points in the standings.
